Yes that's good for 1 but then you have to do it for every single 1099! It's a circular reference. Why did they change it? Plus if you want to add a new Int you have to go through the same back and forth and god only knows if it is capturing all the data correctly. It never asks for the payer TIN when you do new. This is really screwed up. SOmebody should be fired!
I bought my version in November when it was on sale and it will not work for me. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and no change.
I had the same issue and after searching for a resolution Intuit posted a "super patch". I suspect the users impacted are downloading the super patch thus you are not seeing the amount of frustration on the post.
Happening to me too. Blank screen on certain pages! Glitches constantly. I navigate to a page and can’t get out. I have Togo top right hand and see the x and click on it. Then, I have to save, then restart my PC . Then, I am getting message it’s updating again. I already did a 5 minute update this morning? Taken 6 hours in 2 weeks and still not submitted to IRS! Ugg!
Thank God someone beside myself is having the same exact issues, because I didn’t think TurboTax would believe me, if it sine person. TurboTax, are you listening? I used TurboTax for 20 years and never seen this nonsense. Still can’t submit to irs with all these glitches!

I’m going to hr block next year. My cousin had so many issues this year, he tossed TurboTax and bought hr block. He said he was able to transfer his 2023 TurboTax information to HR Block in 12 seconds so he didn’t have to manually input 1-2 hours worth of his data. Wished I had known it before I bought expensive version. I think it all comes down to this is the first year I was not able to load a CD into my windows pc because TurboTax stopped producing them, and I had to do the internet download.
You’re the first person I heard it went smoothly. I work at a Fortune 500 with 78 other people in my department and I’m the department head, and everyone using TurboTax has issues. Everyone using hr block had zero! Guess what I’m buying next year?
It took days to enter 1099 - nec . It kept glitches. The first few weeks, 1099-nec didn’t appear!
Me too’ . My cousin called and after working with him 2 hours, and I think they took control of his computer, they finally told him to delete everything, and upload it again. Same thing all over again ! He bought HR block and he’s fine now!
I’ve been a TurboTax customer for over 25 years and have never had a problem like I’m having now. I Downloaded Home and Business and commenced my return, no problem. Then today Went to update return, and after the Turbotax online update, the software wouldn’t work. Kept getting an error. Couldn’t open Turbotax.
i Spent over 4 hours on the phone with customer service. They had me uninstall and reinstall the software several times, and update windows. Still didn’t work.
Seems like there’s a major bug in the software.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? And if so, how did you fix it?
Also, what other software will import TurboTax files? Need to know in case I have to purchase other software.
Having the exact same error message. Program will not run, and no error number. Downloaded again , same issue.
Calling TTX was a waste of my time. I had to call twice, the first person couldn’t figure it out and hung up on me. There seems to be a bug, causing error message, and not enabling software to open. They need to fix it ASAP. Rather than wasting our time calling them, they should be upfront and say there is a bug, and that they are working on fixing it. Their quality control has decreased.
If it doesn’t get fixed, will need to buy new software.

I have this same issue. Windows 10, loaded C++ during install. I have reinstalled software but can't get past the error screen. It did work for several days and I have started my return but now can't get into the program. I have sent it off to Intuit.
Yes, there are a huge amount of problems in this program. I have been using TT since the late 80s and it has never failed me until this year. I can't even open the software!! I have installed and uninstalled it about 5 time, fixed the C++ issue and still get an error message when I try to open it. I have cleaned out my cache and everything else. Have turned off my ad blocker and my Malwarebytes and nothing helps. Keep in mind that I have used all of these support software items with my TT for several years without problems. I have tried a ton of things to get this fixed including suggestions early in this thread. I have uninstalled, double checked the C++ file, did a thorough cleaning of my computer files, hard booted and reinstalled with the same error on trying to open. And I am NOT the only one with this problem. I am using a PC with Win 10. I didnt want to upgrade to 11 before getting my taxes done. I am so sick of all this hassle and non-response from Intuit.
