the option to pay for turbotax isn't available until the Federal forms are complete? That makes no sense, other people are filing just fine?

I've been ready to file for 2 weeks now but waiting on a form which says it's not ready until the 17th (today). It's for 401k withdrawal that was in 2022 taxes so doesn't need to be in 2023 but I cannot delete it. Is this why I'm waiting? For a form that's not even necessary and cannot be deleted even with 0 added for the amount?!

Maybe you are waiting for some forms.  Click Review to see if you are missing some forms needed in order to e-file.

Many federal and state forms are not yet available.  Check here for form availability. The dates are subject to change.

No hurry to e-file since the IRS will not begin to accept/reject 2023 e-files until January 29.   And….a state return cannot be accepted until after the IRS accepts your federal return.

Another thing to check—make sure the address on your tax return and the address on your method of payment match each other.
