The Correct 2018 TurboTax Software Download

TurboTax-Shop.com has the 2018 Home&Business TurboTax Software available for download for $22.98. Yet, in this forum, I'm only seeing links to- turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/[product key removed]cts/ - which is charging $119.99. 

 I don't have the money for the latter, so I need to know what the difference is exactly. Why is there a difference at all?

My guess would be you are buying directly from Intuit in one instance and from a company that sells pirated software in the other.

Do you know you can buy any version of the Desktop program like Deluxe?  You don't need to buy Home & Business.  All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions.

If you decide to purchase Deluxe from an authorized reputable retailer, be aware then when you purchase Deluxe outside of TurboTax, it comes in 2 versions--one that is Federal only, and one that is a combo Federal and State.   So if you need a state return, be careful as to which version of Deluxe you buy.    The Deluxe sold from the TurboTax website is the combo Federal and state version. At other retailers, you have to be sure which one you are buying.

taxes that's being filed for 2018 plan 1040 will it still cost $119.00

For 2018 you can buy Deluxe for $79.99.  All the Desktop programs have all the same forms.  You just get more help in the higher versions.  And if you buy directly from Turbo Tax all the programs come with one free state program.  You will have to print and mail all prior year returns.

Buy 2018 programs here.  You will need a full Windows or Mac computer to install it on.
