the 2025 turbotax update patch works only for 2024 turbotax software. Is the 225 patch available or a work aound?

Any Turbo Tax updates to their software tends to occur over Wednesday night into Thursday morning. As this is Thursday morning, there was an update last night.  

A 2025 patch would not update the 2024 software.  it doesn't work that way.  

There was no update patch to 2024 last evening.

The 2024 software update/patch, you might have noticed, could have been issued several weeks ago...if you hadn't updated  your 2024 software in awhile.

But, as noted above....a specific year's software update will only be applied to that year's software.

Oh...I see!!   The Manual Update page shows a 2025 Manual update...BUT...actually downloads a 2024 Update superpatch.   (at least right now at 7:40AM Eastern)

Manually Update TurboTax for Windows Software

The software folks updating that page are screwing up.   You should open your 2025 desktop software, and only update it thru the top bar menu....don't use the Manual Update for the time being.  Generally, the Manual Update is only used as a last resort, when the in-program update isn't working.

@xmasbaby0    Maybe you could poke the Moderators to let the software folks that they need to correct the Manual update page to indicate the correct year vs patch that they are providing there?

I am having the same issue.  I got TurboTax 2025 Deluxe and comes up with the error message as shown below,

 

If I look at more details I get this:

And them am taken to a download link which does something to the 2024 Edition (as this thread notes).  See below.

Please let me know how to fix.   I am using Windows 11 on an HP Laptop.

The manual update file for 2025 TurboTax appears to be located here:

Whoever at Intuit is responsible for maintaining the webpage with links to the manual update files doesn't seem to have updated the link to point to the 2025 TurboTax update file instead of the 2024 TurboTax update file.  All they did was change the text on the webpage, not the link, to say 2025.
