This function is broken on the TurboTax end. I can log onto TD Ameritrade and see the PDF version of my 1099, but I cannot download it into TurboTax. I am using the TD Ameritrade Account Number and eleven character Document ID, but TurboTax says they are an invalid combination.
I have used this facility in past years, and it has always worked. There are too many entries to do manually. Please fix this. Thanks.

If you do not want to enter the entries manually, you can follow the instructions here to enter a large amount of entries.
If you need additional assistance, please comment and let us know.
This is not an acceptable answer. The reason for doing the import is to avoid doing manual entries, which can be very tedious. The import facility works with custodians other than TD Ameritrade (e.g. Schwab), it works for some TD Ameritrade accounts, but not all. and has worked in previous yeras. The account I cannot download has the same Account Number and Document ID as last year, and it worked then.
The problem appears to be on the TurboTax end, not at TD Ameritrade. The error messagwe comes up immediately before it even attempts to log into TD Ameritrade. I noticed that on documents that do download successfully they contain alpjha-numeric Doc IDs. The one that fails is all numeric.
I hope this helps, and I really hope this gets resolved.
If you have a large number of transactions, this link gives instructions on How to Enter a Summary in Lieu of Individual Transactions.
I am not looking to enter date in detail or in summary form. TurboTax is obviously broken. People are unable to import Consolidated 1099s from TD Ameritrade, Schwab, and perhaps other custodians. This function had worked well in past years. Please restore this capability!
No. Please read above.
Experiencing the same problem. Been trying to import for at least a week.
You can try and import manually so that you can go ahead and file. Assistance with doing so has been provided by clicking here.
I don't want to import manually. One of the advantages of TurboTax is the Download feature. This has worked in past years, and it works for some accounts this year. Please resolve this.
You must view the form within the TD website environment, you do not want to download the form into a PDF. When you do that, TD will change the Document ID because you have changed the format of the form making it possible for it to be altered. Turbo Tax will only import the form according to the document id as it is shown within the TD program environment. Obviously TD believes this is a security measure to ensure that you get the actual form exactly as provided to you from TD. It also proves to the IRS that the form is legit and in no way was altered.
COMPLAIN TO TD ABOUT IT, NOT TURBO TAX.
it seems the deluxe will only allow one import.
number on the website is the same as the download.

I spent > 2 hours on the phone to a TurboTax customer-support specialist trying to get this problem resolved - without success. I have the Deluxe version, which seems to only allow one download [that is not mentioned anywhere]. She tried to upgrade me to Premier, I tried to purchase the upgrade to Premier. Nothing worked, I STILL ended up with the Deluxe version, and no downloads.
I apologize for the experience you had, however speaking with an agent they would be able to upgrade you with ease, and can take your payment over the phone. @halbooth
