Thank You, We will be in contact.
I have the same issue on my Social Security Benefits Worksheet - Lines 2-19 blank. Did you get an answer?
No. They could not explain it and finally downloaded a copy of my files to study but never came back with an answer. That was over a week go.
I have tested this and see that your SS Worksheet is blank. However, If you take the IRA deduction out, it does populate.
My personal tax return is very similar.
I tested this on mine and had the same result. The Social Security Worksheet went blank after entering an IRA contribution.
I did note that the taxable Social Security was properly reduced after entering the IRA Deduction.
This will require some further investigation, but the taxable Social Security calculation does come out correctly.

I belatedly notice a tiny asterisk on line 20 and a note at the bottom SS Benefits Worksheet that led me to a different worksheet called Worksheets for Social Security Recipients Who Contribute to a Traditional IRA. On this there is a Worksheet 3 - Computation of Taxable Social Security Benefits (which is very similar to the SS Benefits Worksheet) and on this worksheet all the numbers do show.
Thank you. That helps. However, when you go to that worksheet, I could not tell where the amount on line 1 comes from. The description is AGI plus some other items but I cannot come back to the amount shown on that line. So again, some details as to what's in the calculation is unattainable..
Turtle Time replied that a supplemental schedule that is not listed on turbo tax is involved. However, when you go to that worksheet in Turbo Tax , I could not tell where the amount on line 1 comes from. The description is AGI plus some other items but I cannot come back to the amount shown on that line. So again, some details as to what's in the calculation is unattainable
This may not be helpful because we all have different items on our tax returns, but my line one on the Social Security Recipients Who Contribute to a Traditional IRA Worksheet was:
1040 Line 11 AGI less 1040 Line 6b Taxable amount of SS plus the amount I contributed to an IRA.
Thank you. That helps. Still don't understand it because this schedule is supposed to determine the taxable Soc sec. But I can now calculate .
