LOL, that's easy. The FED has already been accepted, and it seems it will take North Carolina till after the 25th of February to get their act together.
Me too.
Now why couldn't TurboTax on my computer, or the TurboTax website, simply state that NC State returns could not be filed yet because the state of NC did not have the eFile forms ready? Instead, it gave a meaningless, cryptic error message that actually made me think that something was wrong with the TurboTax servers. Here is the message it provided: "The Intuit Electronic Filing System is having difficulty recognizing the data in the return you are sending. Make sure your TurboTax program is up-to-date. Go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates. If you still clan't transmit your return, go to www.support.turbotax.com for a solution or workaround. In some cases, you may need to file this return by mail. - Tax Year 2021 transmissions are not available. - TurboTax is not ready to process Tax Year 2021 for this return." Pretty meaningless, yes?
This is not good on the taxpayer side. The IRS is scary enough and then to receive this!????
Is anyone getting "updates" to resolve this matter? How long do I wait, is there anything more I can do on my end??? Do I have to continually go into my account to attempt to "resend/refile"?

The North Carolina Individual Income Tax Return Form D-400 is not yet available for e-filing. It is estimated to be available on 02/24/2022
Go to this TurboTax website for North Carolina state forms availability - https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_nc_online_individual.html
If you want to e-file your federal tax return now then change how you file the NC state return. This assumes that all of the forms and schedules included in your federal tax return are available for e-filing.
If using the TurboTax online editions click on File on the left side of the online program screen. On Step 3 of the File section click on Start or Revisit. Select the button File by Mail. Then change the filing status of the state return.
After the federal return is e-filed and accepted by the IRS you can e-file the state return when it is available for e-filing. Just use the same procedure and change the state return back to e-filing.
I am having the same issues as well, Mine is not letting me delete the from 1099-G for Unemployment. I had no unemployment last year.
I am getting the exact same message, when I googled it said to clean cache and cookies, I did and I am still getting the same message. I have used TurboTax for years and never seen this before.
I reside in NC as well and have been getting this error since 2/6/22. It is now 2/16/22 and I just tried to transmit my state refund again and it still is not going through. Never had this issue in the past and the stress it is causing is ridiculous!
Start from page 1 people have posted on this topic several times the exact steps you need to take for North Carolina state residence only as well as out-of-state residents.

I just followed these steps. I’ve already paid for NC state filing. Follow this thread that was posted, hope it helps!! The good Lawd and my lil dog knows how mad and frustrated I was! LOL 😂

I’m having the same issue but I don’t see a option to change the state to file by mail. However I see a option that says file my federal and state together or delete my state and file my federal with TurboTax. Is this what I should click?? Will it mess anything up?
