Is there an update with this issue?? I have been trying to file my taxes for months and cannot get passed this part....
I had the same problem, and finally fixed it by going to the Forms folder at the top of the turbo tax portal. This will open the actual documents that will be sent to the IRS. If you look at all the sections on the left, one should have a red exclamation point, indicating missing information. This is the disaster section. If you click on the first part of that section, either on the first or second page, you should see a box checked that you took distributions. You are able to uncheck there. (For clarity, this is not in the workable main part of turbo tax where it asks all the questions). When I unchecked it in the actual document, the disaster forms disappeared. I then saved and closed the Forms folder, and it let me proceed to filing.
I don't think so, which is ironic considering how many people have had this problem!
The key is correcting it in the worksheet.
Find the worksheet, "8915E Wks " in Forms (click Forms).
You should find questions like this, "if you received any distribution in 2022 related to a disaster that occurred in 2021 or 2022. Check this box."
Uncheck the boxes if checked, ( C for my case).
Some customers are seeing errors for Form 8915-F which is used for retirement accounts which had distributions under rules for covid relief legislation and we are working to resolve this. Please see this TurboTax help article that has a link to sign-up form notifications when work is completed.
@SAMJAN
That did it! Thank you. I kept going to the actual form but it's the form above it that has the check mark and was able to uncheck and the actual form not done went away!
You can uncheck the box from the actual form 8915 above the 8915-F form. I Believe it's the form above that states not done. Once you uncheck the box it will go away. You then save your taxes and you should be good.
I cannot delete form 8915F. It Keeps appearing as an error on my tax return.
I checked the box that I did not receive disaster distribution - The box keeps getting unchecked after i check it and when I go to review the error appears that I need to complete Part I since I have received disaster distribution which I DID NOT. It is not accepting my answer that I do not have disaster distribution.
I tried opening for 8915F and deleting it , but keeps coming back. This is obviously an error in Turbo Tax. Please HELP ME resolve this problem.
Here is a workaround provided by expert DanaB27 that is working-
Be sure to follow the instructions carefully. Try both options if necessary.
Please try these steps to fix the issue:
Another option is to delete "Form 8915-F" and "Qualified 2020 Disaster Retirement Distr" and then go back to the retirement section and reenter the information:

No need to delete the form. The key is unchecking the boxes in the worksheet.
Follow the steps below:
- Find the worksheet, "8915E Wks " in Forms (click Forms).
- You should find questions like this, "if you received any distribution in 2022 related to a disaster that occurred in 2021 or 2022. Check this box."
- Uncheck the boxes if checked, ( C for my case).
I did what you say.
Boxes can NOT be unchecked. TT adamantly checks them - and it's April 16 and the deadline is in 2 days.
Hmmm, unable to uncheck the box in the worksheet, 8915E Wks?
Then, delete the form, 8915F, click Forms, enter 8915, select 8915E Wks.
And see if able to uncheck the box
Actually, it took to delete the entire 1895T or F, whatever it is. The one I was stuck on, was a subform to that main form, and it refused to be edited or deleted. As soon as I deleted the "mother" form, it all disappeared.
I continue to get the error concerning the retirement withdrawal related to a 2020 or 2021 disaster after going through Wages and Deductions sections several times. I have answered No any place I encountered that question but it still will not allow me to efile. Any thoughts?
