Solar tax credit

for 2018 solar energy 30% tax credit, we had to remove trees to eliminate shading issues, and to install solar panels. Does tree removal count as preparation for solar and qualify for the 30% tax credit?

Solar tax credit

I doubt it.  Having to replace the electrical panel or add a new one to accommodate the solar system would be included in the invoice for the solar system.  I can see that being included, but tree trimming, hmmmm.  Don't think so.  I'll ask the solar expert coming to my house tomorrow (getting estimates now).  If I find out anything different, I'll post again.  The best source for this question is IRS.  Look for their Form 5695, which you have to attach to your tax return.  There should be specific information in the instructions for that form.
