A suggestion is go into your Schwab account and click on the option that allows for sharing. Then sign off and go back to try downloading into TT. The verbiage you're now seeing is what CS has on their site to authorize sharing. Since you will now have already authed CS to share, it should skip this step with in the TT download process. Good luck.
The fix I have is to only use Firefox as the default web browser and not edge for downloading 1099’s from Schwab to TurboTax 2022. Why TurboTax will only recognize downloaded 1099’s from Schwab using Firefox is a TurboTax issue in my opinion.
Already did that and results: NO GO But thanks for the suggestion
I use neither Edge or Firefox...I use Chrome
I have been unable to import 2022 tax information from Schwab, even though Turbo Tax is enabled already for all of my accounts. I followed all of the recommended steps and still get an error message. HELP
Windows edge is the problem. Change default internet app in window settings to FireFox. I did this and it worked with no issues. After I changed back to windows edge as default internet app.
FWIW, my import was successful in the first attempt this year. MacBook Pro running Ventura OS 13.2 and Safari browser. I had to log into Intuit and it took several screens to get it all done, but it did all work just fine.
I had the same issue filing my 2023 taxes with TurboTax Premier Desktop. Using the Brave browser, I logged into Schwab from Turbotax, logged into the Schwab account, and it said the data was obtained, but there was no data in Turbotax. I tried it again with Firefox the exact same way, and the Schwab 1099 data was downloaded correctly into Turbotax.
Mine kept failing using the Brave browser. I finally figure out to change my default web browser in Windows settings to something more mainstream like Chrome or Bing and that worked on the first try.
(windows key / settings / apps / default apps / web browser)
I have exactly the same problem. Very frustrating. Tried all the tips but nothing
I had a similar problem a couple of years ago. I got it working by opening a new tab in Firefox and logging into my Schwab account. I then went back to the TT tab and went through the download process successfully.
Not sure why it worked, but it did.
Even though it says that TT received the data, it does not show up in my return info.
This has happened to me (and to plenty of others) for many years. Could be many different reasons, either with TT or Schwab. The best advice I can give right now is log out of TT, then log back in to see if it shows up. Or, wait until tomorrow and try again. Since Schwab won’t have produced 1099s for all their accounts until end of the month, it may be that they are waiting til then to make 1099 downloads available.
These guys at TurboTax must be kidding!
They are so convinced that their software is without bugs that they give you a solution that doesn't work.
TurboTax: test your software before you give a stupid answer.
better yet, test your software before you release it.
As for me, this is my last year with this crappy application.
It doesn't fail only with Schwab. I have tried this with Fidelity and Merrill Lynch and have the same effect. It says that the data is transferred and return to TT, but TT is still on the same page and the data is nowhere to be found. This seems fundamentally broken. This is using Chrome and Edge browsers, so it isn't related to that and with all extensions disabled.
