Question

Schedule E carryover loss and operating loss

I have the issue of TurboTax incorrectly calculating my carryover loss from 2023 as well as the operating loss.  It may have been fixed in recent update but I am almost done with my taxes and do not want to redo all the work that I have done.  Is there a way to delete all Schedule E forms and reimport just the Schedule E related from my 2023 tax return so that I can just redo those and not my entire federal and state returns?

Unfortunately, no.  You can't transfer in a portion of the 2023 return; you would need to start over with a blank return and transfer in the entire 2023 return.   But, you should be able to just enter the carryover amounts, without re-doing the Schedule E or the entire return.

You can delete the Schedule E and just re-do it instead of the entire return - or you can, of course, start a new return and transfer in your 2023 return.   Or, just enter the carryover amounts.

Ok thank you.  Entering in the carryover numbers kept me in some kind of error loop with Form 8582/Schedule E worksheet as the Line 22 on Schedule E wouldn't fix.   Will try to delete and redo all of schedule E, etc and hope I carryover correctly.  It would be a great feature to allow individual Schedule imports from prior returns.
