I received a 1099-MISC for access to legal services which represents a taxable fringe benefit. However since it was not self-employment income, I don't think a Schedule C is necessary. This was confirmed by information I received with the 1099-MISC. Turbo Tax is requiring a Schedule C, but I'm not sure how to by-pass that. Can anyone provide direction?

In TurboTax, enter your form 1099-MISC in the 1099-MISC section and follow the interview until you arrive at the page titled Did this involve an intent to earn money?. Answer that this did not involve an intent to earn money. The amount will be reported as Miscellaneous income and will not be subject to Self-employment tax.
Thank you for the quick response; however, I never received the question "Did this involve an intent to earn Money?" during the interview prompts.
