Why do you sneak in the processing fee at the very end?  Why is that a secret?

You know you do not have to use refund processing, right?   You can pay upfront and avoid the extra fee.

I knew nothing about a processing fee.  What is the "pay up front" option?  That did not appear anywhere that I saw.  I just had a processing fee added out of the blue.

In the FILE section there is a payment screen.   You can pay your TT fees upfront using a credit or debit card instead of having the fees deducted from your federal refund and save yourself that $40 fee.
