My 21 year old son is a full time student but he made more than $5,050 in 2024 (around $7,000). Can I still claim him as a dependent?

In order to do this, do you say no when asked if they made more than $5000? I don't see how to claim them as a dependent if all other things qualify them.

You would not say no to the question regarding income if that is not true.

If the child in under nineteen years old or a full-time student younger than age 24, they don't have a restriction on how much money they can make as far as you claiming them as a dependent is concerned. So I am wondering why you are seeing that question, maybe they don't qualify for some other reason. You can review this TurboTax article to learn more about qualifying as a dependent.

I figured it out. It was user error. I missed checking a box that made it possible. Should have known.
