Self-employed and missing a 1099-NEC. If I enter the known income as 1099-NEC without the Payers TIN number, I am afraid e-file might reject. Should I enter my known income from this payer on line 1a Sched. C as "income NOT reported on a 1099-NEC?

Q. Should I enter my known income from this payer on line 1a Sched. C as "income NOT reported on a 1099-NEC?
A. Yes. That's enough to get the IRS computers to match the 1099, if one was issued
I haven't tried it this year, with the new 1099-NEC form, but in the past you could enter a 1099-MISC without the EIN and still e-file.
Tried e-file without the 1099-NEC TIN #. Turbotax won't proceed with e-file. Will put that missing 1099-NEC income on line 1a.
Thanks for the info.
