Only Customer support can help you (IF they actually can is unknown).  99% of the gazillions of people using the download software are not having a problem with the Lisc code....But it is true that some are  (including one of the SuperUsers), and we in this forum can only make suggestions. IF none of the suggestions work,  and Customer Support can't fix it for you over the phone, then only a detailed look at your particular device's setup would be able to weed out what the issue is, and I suspect that won't happen without a personal site visit to your home (which has never been done that I know of).

 

One year in the past, there were problems with computers with Solid State Drives and those that use Dynamic RAM.   Other times we've seen problems with folks installing the software on an attached USB-drive instead of the system C:-drive.....but this is all shots in the dark at this point as a Forum advice solution for you is apparently impossible.  Other vendors may be your only choice now....can't be helped.

I installed TurboTax Home & Business several weeks ago and have been using it without any issues. On 1/25/2020, I installed the latest update and the next time I tried to start the program I encountered the infamous activation issue. Maybe it's a coincidence, but the timing was spot on. However, I did not experience this activation issue on my previous updates as others have reported, so maybe it is coincidental.

1-27-2020: The following has worked for me... So far…

 

I am using a Lenovo T530 Laptop with Windows 10 Home, Version 1909. Intel i5-3210M CPU, 500 GB Hard Drive. 8GB RAM. Norton 360 Antivirus software. Spectrum ISP.

 

Since my last post on 1-2-2020, I have been able to open and update TT with no problems. However, I have turned off my Norton Antivirus and Smart Firewall before each attempt. As TT refuses to publicly admit there is an issue with the TT software, it is impossible to determine if my issue has apparently (maybe) been resolved by turning off the Norton software, or if TT has made a ‘Behind the Scenes’ modification to their software via one of the updates. I keep seeing posts saying those folks fighting this problem are in the minority. But I am betting the minority is large enough to put a dent into TT’s sales numbers if TT does not find a solution. It may take another 2014 situation to get Intuit’s attention.

@Critter.  Not sure how I am supposed to get a personal solution from TurboTax.  I have already spent 2+ hours on the phone with 5 or 6 TurboTax support specialists, each of whom had no idea that the problem even existed.  One of the specialists seemed to be spending time corresponding with TurboTax Technical Support, and I thought I was making programs when, after 30 minutes on the phone, she said she was upgrading me to talk directly with Technical Support.  Unfortunately, I was instead transferred to another support specialist, who could not resolve the issue, would not transfer me to Technical Support, and after 30 minutes my call was dropped by TurboTax support.

I have the same problem!. every time I sign up open the file it kept asking for the Activation Code and now I am locked and getting the Error Code 603.

I spoke with support and then transferred to ESD SYNNEX support, this was over a week ago.  No response on providing me with a new code.  Now I'm trying to get a refund.  Not sure what software to use as a replacement though.....TaxAct, HRblock.....

This is for Steam Train and anyone else having trouble

Consider this.  I have TT 2014-15-16-17-18, on my computer still, complete programs with my tax file saved for me to reference back to.

I am using the same computer now, as when I put on TT2014, and the others on it, where I retired here in FL.  Same SSD's, same win7X64, no added virus programs etc, maybe an update graphics driver or such, but right up to this year after TT2018, the same system.

Now I still turn everything off, in the router, computer, (this really is redundant), etc.etc., and ???

TT2019 looks at my system, and states you need to update so you have a "Program Critical" update, which it installs.  It saw my computer, the program, and knew.  I enter the activation code, and it says it cannot connect with my computer.

Now who's system do you think is F___ed up?

I have no doubt it doesn't work for you...but I'm only another user.. we suggest various workarounds that "might" work for most people, but apparently it isn't working for you.

 

Unless CS is willing to physically send an experienced  tech person to your location to weed out what's causing the problem, there isn't much the rest of us can do.

I have had the same problem with having to input the license code multiple times.  I talked to a very nice tech at TTax and  after about an hour he found out how to generate a new license code but the problem of being shut down after five activations remains.  We have used TTax for 15 years and really like it and this is the first problem.  I hope they get it fixed.

why didn't he just give a download link?   Waiting WEEKS for a CD?  That's no solution.
