ITIN state return

Im.doing ITIN application for my spouse with my federal tax retun.  When I do the state return what do i put on my spouse social.security box? Do i leave it blank? She has no ss or ITIN yet. So how do I mail the state return with doing W-7?

You can write in "Applied For" on the state return for the social security number.  It is best not to leave it blank.  You can mail it to the state address indicated for your return.  The state will contact you if anything is needed to process the return.
