YES, YOUR TIN is mpost often your SSN, a businesses TIN is referred to as FEIN, Federal Employer Identification Number, in some states the state tin is same as FEIN, but not all.

Do not mix up your Personal TIN with your account number.

On most IRS forms, the recipient's name is on the left side of the form.

• It may be a Social Security Number for you or a family member, or
• It could be a business with a TIN.
• In either case it is associated with the recipient's name.
