Thank you for your valued feedback. We are working on getting the forms available for e-file as soon as possible.
Use this tool to check availability of forms, including the 4684: Tax form availability
If the form is available for download from IRS site to file by mail, why is it not available through Intuit Turbotax to file ELECTRONICALLY??
It will be available to e-file as soon as we finish finalizing the form; there were changes which require programming updates. @shannonandshelby
When I originally completed my TurboTax Federal 1040 Individual Form, the message from TurboTax indicated Form 4684, P1, Causualities & Theft would be availaible to File on 02/20/2025. Now TurboTax message idicates it has changed to 02/27/2025. Why the additional delay? My expectation is TurboTax should have all necessary forms available to Customers when the IRS allows Tax Returns to be Filed. I find this a critical error with TurboTaxes Services. What is being done to rectify this situation? With all the Choas going on with the New Governement Administration, I fear this delay will severely impact my Federal Refund. What is TurboTax doing to improve the availability of this form to allow me to E-File my Tax Return.
If it has been delayed that would be incredibly unfortunate, and will weigh into my decision of if I ever want to use TurboTax again in the future. 😡😡😡 I should have had my refund by now.
Keeps getting delayed now saying 2-27-25. sick of waiting and even after paying I can't print my return so I can mail it in. If not ready by the 27th, I will download my forms from IRS and mail it in. We had back to back Disasters and need our return ASAP!
After the IRS makes the form available, it goes to TurboTax programmers so it can be put into the program. That involves programming and testing to be sure everything is working properly before it is released for use. Sometimes problems occur with programming and it takes longer than was originally anticipated.
When did the IRS update form 4684? I cannot find an updated form on the IRS website.
It's been available at least 3 weeks. I downloaded the fillable pdf version and it's ready to go if I wanted to file by mail... it's obvious to me that TurboTax didn't add sufficient resources to have that form ready, and now folks who went through natural disaster are on hold getting their refunds...
Probably my last time using TurboTax...😡
I'm very disappointed in Turbo Tax for not having the forms ready. I have been using Turbo Tax since they started many years ago, which is unacceptable. People need their money, and the forms are prepared at the IRS, but Turbo Tax drags its feet and does not care about its customers.
That is BS and unacceptable. Somebody needs to lose their job.
While I can appreciate TurboTax needing to get the Programing done correctly, Form 4684 is not a new IRS form. I has been in used since 1970. I would like to believe TurboTax should be able to accommodate any updates in a reasonalble timeframe. The TurboTax Web site claims, "It takes some time to incorporate IRS forms into TurboTax. While they may be available from the IRS on a given date, we need a few days to make the forms available for use in TurboTax."
I did not find your response helpful at all. It was more of an lame excuse than a detailed Plan for incorporating this form. Yes I did sign up for a email notification when this 4684 Form will be available for E-filing.
As you can see by other Users comments there is a lot of frustration among TurboTax Users on this subject matter. Many people have been affected by Natural Disaters and are in need of their Tax Refunds to rebuild their lives.
Your response make me leary of paying the additional $60.00 for Live Tax Advice.
It was originally scheduled to be released on 2/20. Then 2/27. Still not available today.
When will it be available. I suffered a major lose due to Hurricane Milton and need my refund.

The Form 4684 is scheduled to be available tomorrow, 02/27/2025, in TurboTax.
