@Kotalik84 Your question has been answered in this thread before you even posted it. it is literally directly above the question you posted in this thread.
But i am on ssi
Just file your taxes normally. And put single or head of household. Whichever suits your situation. When they ask the question “can anyone claim you as a dependent “ check NO and the person who claimed you will be contacted by the irs and so will you and you can explain it to them and they can fix it
Just file your taxes normally and he will be audited
Has anyone gotten there stimulus check from irs who is on Social Security income
I paid rent, and added money for groceries. They weren’t taking care of me. I provided for my personal needs. Would this negate them from claiming me.
I received social security disability. I did not make enough to file so I didn’t. I learned of this by over hearing a discussion of my relative telling someone else that they claimed me. Then I found out that they had done this the year before. My Medicaid got all twisted in 2018 and I couldn’t figure it out. Now I get it. It has taken that long for me and my worker to figure out that my being cut off, thereby incurring bills for medical care that should have been paid for by Medicaid and weren’t stating I was on my daughters insurance. I intended to pay those bills with the stimulus I didn’t get. How do I make this correction before anymore stimulus checks come out?
My son claimed me as his dependant. He's 32 and I'm 69. As I am no file status he apparently thought he could. This denied me a stimulus check. How do I correct this? I filed, but my return was rejected.
If your son does not provide more than half of your financial support, please ask him to amend his tax return for 2019 to remove you as his dependent ask that he be sure not to list you on his 2020 tax return, so that you can file without issue next year.
Then, you will file a 2020 return in 2021, even though you are not normally required to do so.
At that time, you will be able to claim a refundable credit for the $1,200 that you should have received.
I am currently unable to file my 2019 taxes which is making it unable for me to claim any type of financial assistance including stimulus deposits. Due to this time and being unable to work I need to resolve this immediately! I've already mailed in the paper form as instructed.
I am so sorry that this happened to you. Unfortunately, as you may already know the IRS is not currently processing paper tax returns so this will likely delay your refund payment and it is possible that you will not receive an economic impact payment (stimulus check) before the year end, either.
If you do not receive the economic impact payment before year-end, you will be able to take a refundable credit on your 2020 tax return when you file in 2021. I realize that isn't much help currently but there isn't any immediate solution available at this time.
Did you also file an identity theft affidavit with the IRS? You can find that form here: Form 14039. Filing this form will allow you to request an Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN)that should prevent anyone else from electronically filing a tax return next year using your social security number. When you receive your IP PIN be certain to keep it in a secure location because without it, you cannot electronically file your own return, either.
Someone claimed me on their taxes without my permission

READ the answers provided in this thread on how to proceed.
I take care of my self and I live in my own home
They have no right to claim me
