If I file on the 7th of January 2022 why is it still showing pending

e-filing hasn't opened yet so your return is sitting on Turbotax servers waiting for that date. be sure to watch for an e-mail saying accepted or rejected once Turbotax submits your return.

The IRS has not yet announced a date for when efiling will be open. But normally, it is at the end of January.
