The first thing you do is to carefully check absolutely everything to make sure it's all filled in correctly and makes sense....totally....reviewed and error checked.
Then Navigate to the Federal... "Other Tax Situations" tab
Expand the "Additional Tax Payments" subsection
....and there is an "Apply Refund to Next Year" line to Start/Revisit

I don't necessarily recommend doing this...because if the IRS changes that refund, for any reason...then you have to very carefully take note of that yourself since the 2021 tax software won't know it was changed, and may think the entire "expected" refund was applied. IF you are also due some extra 1st/2nd stimulus...I have no idea what they do with that....refund it separately, or apply it to next year too???
Take a look at the following TurboTax article for specific step-by-step instructions:
How do I apply my refund to next year's (2021) taxes?
Go to "deductions and credits"; then click on "estimates and other taxes paid" and then click on "income taxes paid" and there should be a spot to enter your 2020 federal refund.
NO ! That area is for 2019 tax refunds from last year's tax prep, that were already applied to 2020 taxes.
This user wants to apply their 2020 tax refund, from their current tax return, to their 2021 taxes.
