Your proof of payment will be your own bank or credit card records. TurboTax will always just show the results of the tax return you prepared using the software--so it will always display the amount that was due. TT never knows how, when, or even if you paid your tax due.
I paid it by the means of payment offered in the application yet the application does not acknowledge the payment? In the case, debit/credit card. No confirmation of payment from the app or the IRS would be warranted at the time of payment but I am supposed to assume it’s been properly paid to the IRS?
TurboTax did not "pay" it for you. It is up to the IRS to take the payment from your account. You have to watch your own account for the payment to be taken out. The IRS does not send you a receipt. You can check your online account with the IRS.
