I’m trying to file my taxes but it wants me to pay

Usually, unless they’re some extenuating circumstances like I have a HSA account and have to go with a paid version , you should be able to file for free. If they’re some reason you can’t do a simple return then you can pay using your tax return. But you can’t get a paper check and it charges you to do so. I believe around 40$.
