I keep getting errors for a form that doesn't apply to me (3554)

Hello. I am trying to file my taxes on TurboTax Premier Desktop version. Upon reviewing it, I keep getting these errors:

Form 3554: Base year cannot be prior to 2013.

Form 3554: Credit owner must be entered.

Form 3554: Question E must be entered.

As far as I can tell, this form does not apply to me. How do I stop it from showing up with errors, preventing me from e-filing?

Form FTB 3554, New Employment Credit, is used to figure a credit for a qualified taxpayer that hires a qualified full-time employee and pays or incurs qualified wages attributable to work performed by that employee in a Designated Geographic Area and receives a Tentative Credit Reservation for that employee.

If that doesn't apply to you, you can delete the form:

1. Sign into your account

2. Select Tax Tools on the bottom left and then Tools

3. Select Delete a Form

4. Find the form and select delete next to it

Thank you for the information. I am using the desktop version of TurboTax and don’t see the place to delete the form as you suggested. Is there a way to delete forms on the desktop version?

Here are instructions on how to delete a form in TurboTax desktop versions. Be careful -  deleting a form or schedule may create new, unforeseen problems before proceeding.

Windows Instructions

  1. Switch to Forms mode.
  2. In the left pane, select the form you want to remove.
  3. After the form is generated in the right pane, select the Delete Form button at the bottom of the window.
  4. Follow any instructions to remove the form or forms.

Mac Instructions

  1. Switch to Forms mode.
  2. In the left pane, select the form you want to remove (if you don't see it, select Open Form at the top).
  3. From the Forms menu, select Remove [form name].
  4. Follow any on-screen instructions to remove the form or forms.
