I have to do 4 sets of income taxes including my wife's and mine. What's the best version to download?

all the desktop versions have the same forms,. the costlier versions may offer more help depending. Whether you need a higher depends on your income, deductions, taxes and credits and familiarity with the tax laws..

But at a minimum, start with Deluxe (make sure it has one free state form set..becasue the cheapest version doesn't include one state).   Box or purchase should say "Federal + State"

Basic never includes a free state form set...so don't bother with that since you need NY.

the different versions depend on what tax forms you will be needing.   If you have any 1099 forms you will have to get the Deluxe software...thats the middle of the road and takes care of most including self employment income business.  Anything more you have to get the BIG Daddy "premium or Home and Business"
