Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

I have not yet submitted my taxes because so far it says I will owe $78 million this year! I made less than $30,000 in 2020 and turbotax made a mistake somewhere. Help!

I had 2 w2's and my 1099G for unemoloyment... I did not pay taxes on unemoloyment and expected to owe a little. I double checked the info and it looks like it was inputted accurately but I don't know where this huge number came from. There is no way it's correct and they won't let me speak to anyone without paying $30!

No one else can see your screen or your tax return, so you are going to have to check it over again and find the error you made when you entered income amounts.   You must have misplaced a decimal or put in some extra zeros somewhere when you entered your W-2 's or 1099G.   Go back to the income entry screens and click edit to look at the entries again.  The comma and decimal are next to each other on the keyboard so it is easy to strike the wrong key.

If your only income is from two W-2s plus unemployment, try going back through those sections, delete your entries, and re-enter the information.

As you delete each entry, you may see the balance due number drop to a reasonable amount.  This would indicate that the error was in that particular form.  Somewhere there is probably a decimal point in the wrong place.
