Thank you for being so honest. The IRS will not ding you if you do not report it, but if you want to, go to the "Wages & Income" section of step-by-step, and scroll down to Interest and Dividends. Click on "Interest on 1099-INT" (either Start or Update, depending on whether you had interest last year) and answer the questions.
