i can not efile because of form 8582

Try clearing your browser history and logging in again, I have seen a few comments from others that say this worked for them.

i did clear that history and even went to do it in incognito mode. still the same thing. I even deleted the whole state return and did it again and still the same story. I'm considering going to use another software for this state return. unfortunately i already filed federal over 11 days ago

you can e-file on the maryland comptroller's site: marylandtaxes.gov. i will do this next year.

I am getting the same error. When I go to Forms, the options are greyed out. I have gone in several times to indicate that I have no rental or royalty payments. I could file right now except for this error.

Despite the fact that Form 8582 was supposed to be updated on the 10th, this issue persists.  I am an actively licensed CPA who uses TurboTax for personal and family returns (I am NOT a tax accountant and do NOT do returns for others) and I am astounded at the lack of ability of Intuit to address this issue in a timely and satisfactory manner.  Unlike many of you who are using a workaround by zeroing/deleting everything, I do have PAL from a rental property and hence cannot use this approach.

It is shameful that Intuit continues to suggest that this error is related to an updated federal form that is creating incompatibility, as this problem is not being reported for other filing methods/software packages.  Instead, this seems to be a case of pure incompetence.  Initially I delayed my federal filing several days with the hope that this would quickly be resolved and I could file federal and state together.  After a few days, I went ahead and filed my federal return - the refund has already been approved - and still I am unable to file MD through TurboTax.  It is getting ridiculous and yes, I know I could use other means of filing but ultimately, I paid for this product and expect it to perform as it should.  

If this is not resolved in short order, this will be my last TurboTax year.

Hi! I had a 3 minute update to install on TT this AM for Maryland taxes. It seemed to be the ticket! I had been able to e-file Maryland BUT not to print the Maryland forms for me to keep--but was able to after this update. Keeping my fingers crossed that this update works for you. let me know!

there was a TT update installed today and it seemed to be the answer to our prayers! it was a 3 minute update. i hope this helps you.

hi, i got a 3 minute TT Maryland upgrade this morning @ 10 am Saturday, February 12th and it seems to be the correction we all were hoping for. It finally let me print my Maryland Return. I had been in contact with a very nice lady from the e-file office of the Maryland Comptroller's Office by phone and e-mail and e-mailed me @11 am that Maryland had approved TTs update on Friday! I hope this helps you out.

I was able to file my taxes on Feb, 10th. It seems they have fixed the issue, at least on my end. If you are waiting to file your taxes again, I recommend to try it again!

after jumping through a lot of hoops and getting good info from others, i e-filed awhile ago. i have in contact with a nice lady from the Maryland Comptroller Office E-file division. she told me that Maryland had just approved TTs new format. i was able to print mt Maryland return today. all seems good, i hope

You aren't alone. I also had PAL from a rental property and cannot file my taxes due to this bug. The software continues to list five errors in total - one of which is my name! I've been in touch with TurboTax (via Twitter DMs) for days and they have been of no help.

I've used TurboTax for years without issue, but this is ridiculous - I'll be giving a serious look at the competition next year. If I had any expectation of actually getting back the money I paid for this product this year I'd have moved on already.

I know I still can’t file the activity worksheet is not ready to due to federal form not ready yet agent I spoke to said there’s an update coming I don’t understand when this issue will be fixed or when form 8582 will be available so I can file my Maryland taxes

have you tried this week. i got a 3 minute patch from tt on Saturday and everything went smoothly. i have cd version.

I understand the cd version works smoothly. I use turbo tax online and this is the first time I'm having this issue with the software in about 12 years I've been using them. I read somewhere that they are phasing out the online version later this year, so, I think I might just have to go get the desktop/cd version now to solve this problem though I already set payment for this year's return to be taken from my refund. I spoke to the tt last week and they told me to try state returns again this Monday which I did but still the same story. I even deleted the return and did it over again but still the same story.
