wow - thank you so much for the what-if direction. and for the follow-up message telling me I'd have to work from scratch if my what if indicates its worth trying. Yes, I'm comparing MFJ to MFSeparate.

The reason behind my what-if is that one of us has significant medical expenses that will far exceed the minimum deduction....
