Hello,
I received a 1095-B. I have Medi-Cal for free in 2021 and received it through Covered CA. I pay no premiums. Do I answer "no" to the following question on TurboTax Premiere:
Was anyone enrolled in these less common plans in 2021?
Covered California (3895)
Obamacare
Healthcare.gov plan
Another state's Marketplace plan
Thanks.

You would answer yes to the question since Medi-Cal is part of Covered California.
I called my county to clarify how I received Medi-Cal. I originally applied for Covered CA, but I didn't qualify due to my income, so Covered CA referred me to Medi-Cal. I was assured that Medi-Cal is not part of Covered CA. Likewise, if I were to apply for Medi-Cal first and do not qualify, it would refer me to Covered CA. They are separate plans who refer each other if the applicant doesn't qualify for one. So, in my original post, I erred in stating that I received Medi-Cal through Covered CA. Covered CA referred me to Medi-Cal. I also received a 1095-B form. So, based on this newly learned information, this would indicate that I check off "No" instead of "Yes" on the TurboTax Premiere, correct? Please see the Yes/No question I'm referring to below:
Was anyone enrolled in any of these less common plans in 2021?
*Covered California (3895)
*Obamacare
*Healthcare.gov plan
*Another state's marketplan
Yes, you are correct to answer NO. Since you received a 1099-B, that confirms that you did not have a Marketplace plan.
