thanks,
wanting to avoid going into the forms directly.

If your wages or withholding didn't transfer to your state return:
I tried that its not working. TT saying that if the W2 is blank that I should not make an entry. Does it matter that this is imputed income only?.
thanks.
what I meant by blank, that no deductions were made for state or local taxes, only federal.
Cheers,
Even if no state taxes were withheld, the income in box 1 on your W-2 form should transfer down to your state return. I suggest you look at the state tax summary to see if the wages are being reflected on your state return:
While working in your state tax return, do the following:
I am using the downloaded version of Deluxe. I looked at the forms and I am missing the W2. It has not carried over into the PA return?
any help is apprecieated.
Were you a full year resident of Pennsylvania for 2024?
yes, me and the wife were both full time residents in PA.
If your second W-2 is entered in the federal portion of your tax return it will automatically carry over to the Pennsylvania (PA) tax return. Double check you have selected PA as the state and the state wages are present. If you continue to have this experience you can send us your file to review. See instructions below.
If you would like to send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information it would help. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:
TurboTax Online:
Open your return -Go to the menu panel on the left side of your return and select Tax Tools.
TurboTax Desktop:
If you like, you can send a copy of your return that will be scrubbed to eliminate your personal data by using these steps:
We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.

issue with additional W2 import from fed to PA return
thanks
Thank you for your token. When I review the state return the wages on Line 1a are correct including W-2 income for both spouses. If you are using TurboTax Online you can use the steps below to preview or print your return before you file to make sure the numbers are accurate.
If you look at the Preview of the PA Tax Summary, the 'Taxable compensation' is the amount of wages after the employee job expenses. See the instructions after the print instructions.
You have access to all forms when you choose to print your return in TurboTax Online/Mobile. However you are required to pay before printing, but do not have to file until you are ready.
If you are using TurboTax Desktop you can switch to Forms and review all forms and worksheets.
From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.)
For TurboTax Desktop, change to 'Forms' and review the forms
Please update here if you have additional questions and we will help.
I do not see what you do.
I am using the download version of deluxe. I see three W2 in the federal return and only two in the PA return.
Also looking at the PA forms worksheet the amount of the one W2 is missing. one spouse has one W2 and the other two W2.
thanks for your help.
Yes, I agree. There is one W-2 where no state wages or tax is entered in the W-2. I assumed it was because you entered it the way it was printed and there was no comment about what it was for, but it is the smallest amount. If you believe this one should be taxed it will be just a simple entry in the W-2.
Thank you and you're welcome.
yikes, a manual entry in the PA gross compensation worksheet?
you are correct, I entered the W2 manually exactly as it was printed, again this is imputed income.
to be honest I am not sure if it is taxable in PA or not. can you guide me on how to make this entry into the PA return.
thanks,
