Why was your 2019 e-filed federal tax return rejected? The email you received from TurboTax shows the rejection code and reason for the rejection from the IRS.
I never received an email with any code, I only knew my taxes were rejected when I logged into the app
A 2019 tax return can no longer be e-filed, it has to be printed and mailed. The majority of the rejections from the IRS were for an incorrect 2018 AGI when e-filing the 2019 return. The 2018 AGI is not needed on a mailed tax return.
To access your current or prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)
Print, sign, date and mail the tax return to the IRS. Include with the mailed return any forms W-2 and 1099 which have taxes withheld. Go to this IRS website for mailing addresses - https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment
There are no penalties for filing a tax return after the due date if filing for a tax refund or there are no taxes owed.
Thank you for your help! One last thing where can I find my AGI I believe that why my taxes where rejected because I didn’t have the correct and direct answer I sort of guessed.
The 2018 AGI is on your 2018 federal tax return Form 1040 Line 7
