At review section, form 4852 - substitute form W2 1099R shows ready soon. Requested email when ready. Got email Sun Feb 14 saying forms updated. Have tried updating the file numerous times but still get the same message. When will the forms be available.

I am not sure why you received the email saying it is ready.  The Form 4852 will not be available until February 25 and it will only for paper-file.  TurboTax does not support the e-filing anymore.

To see the forms' update, click here: Form 4852

Form 4852 serves as a substitute for Form W-2, Form W-2c, and Form 1099-R, and is completed by taxpayers or their representatives when:

  • Their employer or payer does not give them a Form W-2 or Form 1099-R.
  • An employer or payer has issued an incorrect Form W-2 or Form 1099-R.

As Tax Expert @LinaJ2020 said, Form 4852 is not scheduled to be ready in TurboTax until February 25. She explained you cannot e-file a return with a substitute W-2 form.

If you are in a hurry, you can use the IRS fill-in version. Print out the Do Not File version in TurboTax and copy the information to the IRS fill-in form. Print the IRS version and include it with your return.
