Form 8949 Stock Sale Question

Unfortunate that you are not able to easily download the data.

Yes, I would create a 1099-B and report the DRIP's with a one line entry.

At the screen Did you get a 1099-B or a brokerage statement for these sales, select Yes.

At the screen Tell us about this sale, select I'll enter a summary for each sales category.

Form 8949 Stock Sale Question

Which screen are you starting on? I don't have these "options"  down the left side of the screen, that is, Federal/Wages & Income/Investments and Savings (Show More) / Start - Revisit (Stocks, Crypto, etc.) It appears that this might have applied to 2021 return but aren't there for 2022.  I'm using Desktop, not Online. Thank you,

Form 8949 Stock Sale Question

To follow up on the comments from JamesG1, you can only upload a pdf of a 1099-B if you are using TurboTax online.  Because you are using TurboTax CD/download, you will need to enter the transactions individually given that they were not reported to the IRS.  In TurboTax CD/download, the process described in the previous post is somewhat different.  Follow these steps to enter your transactions

  1. Select the Personal tab.
  2. Select the Personal Income tab.
  3. On the next screen you will see the option to Walk me through everything, and the option to I'll choose what to work on.  Select the latter.
  4. Scroll down the screen to Investment Income and select Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other.
  5. Enter your information.
