I did the same thing and it didn’t help. I’ve also done every update . I’m going on week 2 of getting the same message of you can’t efile. I can’t afford to buy another program or pay for the online version .
There was an update overnight and people have been able to successfully efile now.
I am getting the notice that i cannot file without form 7206. I DO NOT NEED THIS FILE. YOU MAY NOT NEED IT EITHER.
Schedule C does not in and of itself require this form. Delete it if you have not placed insurance under the business as opposed to simply having deductible health insurance. Our Medicare insurance premiums are deductible, do not require 7206 form. Our LLC rentals do not pay for the insurance, not "under" the business.
An update came out on 2/15, it solved the problem for me, give it a try. I am using the desktop version.
Still can't file 7206 as of 3/14, 2024, tried 4 times and wasted at least 2 hours on phone with customer service? FAQ link is a non-existent page!
e-file transmission is successful and gets reject by IRS.
Issue still persists as of 03/16/2024.
Less than one month left and TT hasn't resolved the issue. Disappointing.
The development team has been made aware of the e-filing rejection code that seems related to Form 7206. They are working to resolve this and request that you use the link in the following TurboTax help article to register your email address for notifications. The expectation is that this will be resolved in the March 29th program update.
Why is TurboTax adding an incomplete Form 7206 when I'm not required to file it?
Annette, I no longer have a problem with this form. I deleted it.
I just want to say your answer is clear, much more so than many of this years replies. Thanks
That link no longer works. What are we supposed to do about the 7206 problem? File anyway? Wait? Extend?
The development team has given us an update with regard to customers who are receiving the Reject Code R0000-058-01 when trying to electronically file your return. The resolution to this situation is taking longer than expected and it may not be resolved before the tax filing deadline.
For reference, this information is from the IRS Instructions for Form 7206:
Generally, you can use the worksheet in the Form 1040 instructions to figure your deduction. However, if any of the following apply, you must use Form 7206.
In order to proceed and get your return filed in a timely manner, please follow this advice:
1 - If you are required to include Form 7206 as a part of your tax return based on the information above, then you need to print and mail your return. Electronic filing will not be an option if the reject code persists.
2 - If you are not required to include Form 7206 as part of your tax return, then you can attempt to delete the Form 7206 and try electronically filing your return once again. If the form cannot be deleted or you still get the reject code, then you need to print and mail your return.
Use the steps in the following TurboTax help articles to delete Form 7206:
