Did you try to go into forms mode & delete the entry from there?
Not guaranteeing it will work, but I am sure I've had to go that route fairly often.
Any time you look for advise from Turbo Tax or Intuit you are going to be disappointed most of the time. The best advise you will get will be from people on this chat line.
No, but I will try that and let you know if it works. Thank you.
Thank you. I expect you're right. If I can't fix it soon, I will just mail it in.
I actually found the entry on a forms worksheet and was amazingly able to delete it! Wow! e-mailed this evening. Thank you!
Tried it multiple times. Do I have to buy another software to get it to work? VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!
If you have Home and Business, you should be fine. Did you input using the Step-by-Step option or Forms? If the first, you might try Forms.
After taking a closer look at your return, I did not find a root cause for the zero showing on line 27b of your Schedule C. That being the case, the solution you discovered in Forms Mode to delete the zero manually was the best solution.
To allow us to take a closer look at what is happening with your return, you can create and send a diagnostic tax file. The diagnostic file will not contain personally identifiable information, only numbers related to your tax forms. If you would like to provide us with the diagnostic file, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version of TurboTax you are using and what states you are filing in a follow-up thread.
Use these steps if you are using TurboTax Online:
If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, use these steps:
For those of us who needed form 7206 and have filed a return successfully (or at least the IRS accepted the return), are any of you expecting a refund? I am and my refund approval has been pending past the 21 day normal time frame for approval. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.
I'm still waiting too. I filed the day the 7206 bug was reported fixed on this forum, got a notice 2 hours later that the return was accepted by the Feds, but Where's My Refund site still says the refund has not yet been approved. In the meantime, I've already received my state refund. That never happens before the irs.
I had the "can't file due to form 7206" issue. I filed Feb 16. Our federal refund was in the bank account March 6.
my return was rejected due to form 7206 on March 12th using updated TT so the issue still hasn't been fixed. After talking to a TT support rep we removed the 7206 form which increased my taxes $200 but I was able to efile and it was accepted. Maybe when TT really fixes the bug I'll file an amended return.
3/12/24 Has this issue been corrected? My return was just rejected, all updates are current.
If you read through the responses on this thread you will see that many people have successfully e-filed with form 7206 included. Maybe Intuit messed something up again. I not only filed but have my state and federal refunds in the bank.
