form 1116 (COPY 1): Line 33 should be blank

Hello Experts,

In form 1116, line 33, shows $56 in "red" indicating an error.  In schedule 3, part 1, line 1 shows $56.  This $56 is from my 1099-DIV, line 7, foreign tax paid.   Looking at the form 1116, line 20 & line 32 are blank which seems to be the source of the error.

Does anyone have a suggestion how I can fix this error?  I cannot delete the form or override line 33 without producing an additional error.

In forms mode, bring up f1116.  Click on the red button at the top. An error message box should come up indicating what the error is.  Clicking on the button again will close the message box.

When I press the button as suggested, the error reads "line 33 should be blank".  Line 33 is blank, not a very informative message.

I suggest starting over.  Delete the 1099-DIV and the F1116.

Thanks.  starting over is a daunting task given the amount of information contained in my taxes.  Unfortunately, I have not found a way to delete form 1116.  In the Forms view it does not provide such an option like other forms.  I do think deleting the 1099-DIV which reports foreign income may be fruitful.  Will give it a try.

One last update.  I found that Turbo tax was really flagging the fact that the foreign income was under $600 (married filing jointly).  In the form view I was able to delete the form under menu item "Form".
