@gloria12 My pleasure! I'm glad it's something positive anyway. I've decided I will no longer worry about this for at least a couple of months and then see what happens. I can use a break from the stress! 🙂 Hope you and everyone gets good news soon! Bless!
@gloria12 We are two peas in the same pod, unfortunately. Fingers crossed that TOP corrects their errors!
@DP01 Thank you for sharing I really appreciated.. because I could never get through..
I just spoke to someone at the dept of treasury and they there was a processing error and they found this last week. She asked if I had filed an injured spouse form with my taxes( I did) and that my portion of the stimulus check should be give in 8-10 weeks. Its good to have more accurate info(if its really true) but big time bs that we have to wait that long for what everyone else got without any trouble.
What number were you able to find? I received 2 "Your Economic Impact Payment Has Arrived" letters (one addressed to me and my spouse and one addressed to my spouse only). They both said our stimulus would be direct deposited; no mention of being intercepted by our state ORS.
I have filed injured spouse with the last 10 years of taxes, but according to the Tax Offset line, both stimulus checks were sent to our State Government for arrears child support that is now owed by me. I called ORS and they said I had to file the Injured Spouse form AGAIN. This is beyond frustrating; the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and no one can seem to give any information.
Exactly...and 8 to 10 weeks from when ?
I agree
This also gave me some good news today, I'm also going to stop worrying and calling! I will see in a couple months if its correct.
Thank you so much
@DP01 Thanks for the information. I hope they plan to pay interest since they are taking an additional 8-11 weeks for their mistake. Bad enough its been 3 months since I filed my taxes and still waiting on that and now I have to wait for a stimulus payment too?!?!? Good thing my job is essential so that I can, at least, feed the same kids that their mom is being paid for. Long story for our story and I won't bore everyone with it, but this is stupid and puts so many families in a hard place right now. Good luck to everyone in this time and hopefully we will all get our payment in the long run. Let's hope it's sooner rather than later.
Has anyone who filed and injured spouse paper gotten their stimulus?
@DP01 @Thank you so much for sharing your information. If the debt is owed I have no problems paying for it and I'm not trying to get out of it. However I think it's wrong to make innocent kids pay the sons of their parents. My husband can't even get the state to stop the child support court order that makes him pay money out of his disability. This has been going on since October and he no longer owes but you think that they are quick to help him out.
Hello Paredarkan,
I filed my IS form as paper via certified mail. It got there and someone actually received it as I was able to track it, however since IRS doesn't have a live person to answer I haven't been able to call and ask if it got entered in the system. I know someone said they spoke to someone in the treasury dept and was informed if they filed IS form 8379 that they should be getting their stimulus in 8-11 weeks, that's if it was filed electronically with your taxes. I'm wondering how it will be processed for us that sent it by mail after. As for my refund I'm also still waiting as it also was held. I received two letters one for my refund and one for the stimulus both under both our names. I guess at this point it's a matter of waiting and not losing hope that this will all be fixed for the thousands of us being affected.
@Nmatthew001 You are so welcome! Hope we all get good news in the next few months!
@ITGirl Yes, it is unfortunate that this has happened and so not fair. I, too, have not received my federal refund after being so proud of myself for filing the first week in Feb! LOL! Am blessed to be able to continue to work from home and get my paycheck. There are so many others in worse situations! Definitely need to keep my stress level down and am praying those who need their money now get some relief soon!
@Mhulsey2506 I understand, and it is definitely not a good system (never has been). I feel like it was such a rush and push to get the money out as a whole that this ended up being a huge mistake for Injured Spouses. Certainly would have been much better to treat this as a true stimulus during a national crisis for all and not have any offset for any debts since everyone is suffering financially because of it. Just going to look forward and remain positive (at least for a couple of months anyway)! Continuing to think about those who are in desperate need and hoping they see their money soon.
