Filing With Third Party Professional

@ZeroBadCooks , note that 1065  is  filed ONLY using TurboTax business and ONLY the k-1 out of it gets used  on your 1040.     8938 is part of your  return  for foreign  assets , while FBAR  ( FinCen 114 ) is filed directly  and on-line ONLY .    Is that what you meant. ?

IMHO these are perfectly doable  with   TurboTax  and TurboTax busiess ( with  or without help ).

Filing With Third Party Professional

@pk thanks. I did some more research and I am fairly confident I can avoid filing the 1065.

The problem with TT is that it won’t support the 5471 for e-filing unless that has changed recently.

I will see what the pro can support/wants to do this week. I am hoping he will be open to letting me file the FBARs myself online and maybe we can share the state and federal data via some of the options already discussed.

I do know TaxAct supports the 5471 so I will call them tomorrow and see what they will support but that is probably for 2023 and 2024 taxes unless something changes. I think it would be too ambitious to file all of the foreign filings myself the first time correctly.

It looks like the pro is open to filling out the foreign forms and sending them to me, so I can file them with the state and federal forms I prepare. He would also include any adjustments to the 1040 I'd need to make. I am in the midst of calling up TaxAct to see exactly what I can efile, or if I need to do paper because of the multiple 5471s. This is probably the best possible outcome for me as I can handle the simple stuff myself and he can do the complex filings, and this cuts my prep bill in half. I am fairly pleased with how this has worked out. Thanks for the advice everyone.
