Filing Tax before extension deadline

Hi,

I have filed for tax extension and paid taxes (more than enough based on turbo tax software)  before April 18 2022 deadline.

When I try to complete my filing using turbotax, it doesn't give me an option to complete filing without sending money to Fed and state. Turbotax PC software  doesn't know I have already filed for an extension.
How do i complete tax using turbotax? Should I select "send tax by mail" and complete efile since both states and Fed already received my payments. Thanks

Filing your taxes are not dependent on you paying outstanding taxes immediately.  TurboTax will tell you what is owed based on the info you input. If you prepaid your taxes, there is a point that you input the amount.   The software calculates what is owed based on what you say you paid.   At some point you get the option to pay (a) at time of filing (b) at a set date or (c) request a payment plan.  You also make a selection to e-file or print and mail.  These are all options that you choose.  If you are having difficulties recheck, refresh or start over.    There is also a number you can call for help.

Of course, you "Do" have to make sure that your extension payment...the one you supposedly made in April?.....Make sure it is reflected on your tax return.   Sometimes that pre-payment hasn't been entered in your tax file and the payment due now is "off" by that amount.

It should be shown on line 31 of your form 1040.

If it isn't there, then you need to make sure it gets in there......entered in the interview on the

Deductions & Credits section

down in Estimates & Other Taxes Paid

on the Other Income Taxes line

Then there are separate entry areas for both Federal and State Extension Payments where you enter those prepaid $$
