Tried filing my taxes today and it says Federal Form 8915E-S is not available yet, any idea
how long till it's available on Turbo Tax.
Both Federal and State info is saved.
Thanks

You can prepare and attach a statement so you can e-file now and not have to delay filing your return. See Alternative Filing Method for 8915-E for information on the format of the statement.
How do I attach a statement, if I'm filing through Turbo Tax shouldn't that be done
when I am e-filing, meaning wouldn't Turbo tax have the statement to attach?
Can you clarify what type of disaster distribution or repayment you are reporting?
There is no repayment, we had to take money from 401 retirement plan to help with
financial relief due to covid, we had to also in 2020 and had no issues using another
online tax program, our financial advisor said we should check when doing our taxes.
my hubby is over 59 1/2 so no issues for early withdrawl and we did pay taxes when we took
the money.
How much longer till the necessary form is loaded? It is 8915E-S
Or how do I go about getting my $108.00 refunded to me since I paid already
to use your program and my taxes are just sitting in your program saying I can't complete
and file at this time since the form i need is not loaded yet
I have the same problem. It's been 6 days thus far and it's still not ready. When will it be ready? How long is reasonable to wait?
I have the same problem. This issue with 8915E-S form not available and not able to file electronically is ridiculous. Please provide a solution. I do not want to file hardcopy returns.
Form 8915-E is not used for 2021. It was used in 2020 to report a Retirement Distribution that you elected to pay taxes on over a three-year period.
If this applies, the form you need in 2021 to report this is Form 8915-F. It is scheduled to be available on 3/24/22. Click this link for more info on Form 8915-F.
OR, are you preparing (or amending a 2020 return? If so, then Form 8915-E is used.
If you took a Retirement Distribution in 2021 (but not in 2020), it is not a Disaster Distribution and no 8915 form is needed. Re-visit your 1099-R entry and check your answers to the follow-up questions.
Click this link for info on How to Enter 1099-R.
I am having a similar issue of the form not being available, but we did not take any distributions in 2020 OR 2021.I have double checked all my personal info entered to make sure it reflects that, and STILL no form available. And I don't feel that the form even applies to me-not sure what triggered it. So frustrating.
Please review the response above; this tax season, form 8915-E is replaced by 8915-F. Per the forms availability list, it is slated to be finalized on 3/24/22 . Additionally, if you do not believe the form applies to your tax situation and have double checked all applicable responses, please review the resources below @bholsen.
