Agree 100%. If TurboTax doesn’t step up then refunds should be issued.
never had this problem with turbo tax or Etrade since downloads started
Cannon, you are on to something really helpful, I have 2 E*Trade accounts. The one that has a regular 1099 consolidated tax form imported the1099 form without problem but the other account that has a 1099 corrected version having problem with import. I think the 1099 corrected version has some coding problem that prevent Turbotax from seeing the tax related data.
I called in today - rep was all over the place. First said the patch wouldn't be in till after 4/18. Had no idea what the issue was. Then she said she has had a ton of questions on this and no one at Turbo Tax has responded to her inquiries ....
Then said didn't know if issue was just ETrade or other companies as well.
now the rep is trying to say all the Premiere Turbo Tax CDs from Costcos are bad - sounds like a reach ...
sounds like no one knows what is going on -
opened case number #[phone number removed] - I suggest everyone call in and jump on it.
If anyone from TurboTax can push this along or update us - that would be great
Time is of the essence
I won't buy turbotax next year, it is really su***, I just could not understand how come it's unable to import Etrade 1099-b, why?? is it hard??
Carissa - can you help us here?
I am on with ETrade and they said the problem is with TurboTax and the number of line items they can handle on 1099B.
There seems to be some discrepancy on whether it is 2500 or 10k line items. I believe it 10k.
But there may be a limit on non covered option trades of 4000.
As of today, March 31, still getting the error msg trying to import from ETrade. It’s not fixed.
Still not working 3/31/22.
It didn’t work for me.
That’s BS. I got my TurboTax CD in the mail directly from them.
Agreed on refunds- bought ours from Costco and will be returning!!
I already feel bad for folks who bought the software and try to use it a few days before the 15th. Will be a big disappointment. Nobody knows why and nobody seems to care enough to try to debug the issue and FIX it.
Two F-ing hours later on a call with TT, this is their response:
This is ridiculous. I paid money to get Premier specifically for the integrations with E*Trade so all of my transactions are imported and I don't have to worry about incorrectly entering data. E*Trade is LITERALLY one of the displayed logos when you click "Import" (see below). Yet the integration is broken and TT refuses to create a ticket acknowledging that this is a bug.
What did I pay for then? If I wanted to manually enter my taxes I would have gotten a pen and paper like it was 1980.
When you call the rep says "I don't see a case for this", but when they see that there is a bug they say "we can't create a case because there is a workaround". This is some chicken and egg BS! How will anything get fixed if you don't admit it is broken in the first place. To my knowledge there is no way to see if this is being worked on or when it will be fixed. I will be using another tax service and asking for a refund as this is absurd.
yeah their workaround involves me printing out 380 pages.
Terrible service.
Oh and get this - they won't ever leave a case open. Rep told me no matter what happens - they close a case once you hang up. THEY NEVER LEAVE A CASE OPEN. I asked how is that possible - I'm sure there are plenty of cases that aren't resolved on every single call. The answer is "that's company policy". I've never heard of such a thing and I have been involved with a lot of call centers.
I had the same problem.
My fix was instead of importing it from the 1099-DIV screen. I imported it from the 1099-B screen. I didn't think it would work after many tries from the DIV screen. I think it must be a bug. Try doing it from the 1099-B import screen and let me know what you think.
Note: the screens look exactly the same.
