The state returns pull much of the information from the federal return, so this originated in the federal return. It appears that you accidentally started to make entries in the employee business expenses section.

Here's how to make adjustments:

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Deductions and Credits
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Employment Expenses
  • On Job-Related Expenses, click on the start/update button
  • Once in this section, you can remove/adjust this category

Hello,

I have done this a few times and this form continues to show up each time I start the program??? Why could this be?

If you do not have any business expenses, you can delete the input as follows:

  1. Go to the federal section of the program
  2. Go to Deductions & Credits
  3. Under  All breaks, select Employment Expenses
  4. Select Job Expenses for W-2 Income
  5. On the next page, you should see a page titled Review your job-related expenses info.  Please select the trash can icon to the right of the activity to delete any input in this section.

If you still are getting a message, you can also try to delete the form as follows:

  1. Select Tax Tools in the black panel on the left
  2. Select Tools below Tax Tools
  3. Select Delete a Form
  4. Scroll down until you see Form 2106.  Select delete to the right of this form
  5. Select File in the black panel on the left and resubmit your return for filing.

Same, I keep getting Untitled in my California State Taxes. I don't see a Form 2106 to delete.

I followed these instructions and still have "untitled" showing up in the CA State tax step-by-step process.  I ignored it (hit "done") and looked through the CA state forms that Turbotax created and did not see any problems (or evidence of some "untitled" business or occupation).
