Efile transmission not going through, error code 2

I had the same issues too years in a row and also found help line to be very unhelpful and uninformed. I just had this problem and after reading some comments, realized that my file sizes were too big.  When I converted my jpeg file of Form 8453, it was a 19 mg PDF file.  I then printed my jpeg as a 'print as image', which still converts the jpeg to a PDF, the PDF file was under 1 mg.  I then re-attached the new and smaller 8453 PDF file and it went through immediately.

I had the same issue. Glad I found this post.

I let TurboTax convert my jpeg of the signature form to a PDF.
After reading this post, I converted it to a PDF on my computer first, and then uploaded the PDF.

Problem solved.  😎

I got the same transmission failure message when I tried the 1st time.  I tried again later and the message says that I need to get the latest Turbo Tax update.  I did and then the tax return was transmitted without any problem.

This worked for me this year after repeated attempts at transmitting and then searching for a solution to the "Error: 2" problem.  After I ensured the security settings were the default, transmission went through without any problem.

Same issue for me 4-4-2026.  Then tried E-filing separately instead of fed and state together.  E-filed Fed alone first.  Went through.  Exited the program.  Opened again then filed state separately.  Went through.  Hope this helps others!
