I think I was charged twice $40. Can someone review my payment status? Or $40 for Federal and $40 for state? Please advise.

Since you mentioned a fee of $40, I'll assume you used Online Deluxe. If that's correct, here are some typical fees in Online Deluxe.
Deluxe Federal return $40
Deluxe State return $40
Optional: The choice to pay fees out of the Federal refund: $40 ($45 for California filers.).
So did you have both Federal and state returns at $40 each?
Or did you have just the Federal at $40 and chose to pay that fee out of your Federal refund and were charged the $40 service fee for that payment method?
If you chose to pay out of your Federal refund, and if you haven't yet filed, you may be able to remove that choice and pay the fees upfront with credit/debit card or a prepaid debit card you can buy in a store.
I updated to Premier from Deluxe and was charged May 19 $44.99 and May 18 $31.95. Please credit my card the incorrect bill. The $31.95 was what I was told it would cost. Susan B [email address removed]
