Do i file or not? Former International Student

hey

i have lived as an international student for almost 9 years as an F-1 student. Graduated and left, currently in my home country, with no intention of coming back.

I own stocks in Fidelity and some other platforms.

am I obligated to pay taxes for dividends, Captial gaina, and others? since I am not a US citizen, but was previously considered US person, since I lived over 5 years in the US. No longer though.

Duplicate question. Please post your question only once. If you want to add more information or post a follow-up question, add a reply to your original question. Do not post separate questions about the same issue. It's too confusing and hard to follow, and hard to see the whole picture, if information is scattered in multiple threads.

Nonresident aliens are not subject to U.S. capital gains tax, and no money will be withheld by the brokerage firm.

However,  You will likely need to pay capital gains tax in your country of origin.
