That’s great. When will TurboTax reflect that document and allow users to e-file? As of now still experiencing the same issue.
You should be able to file today.
I just tested it and the program worked correctly except that I was asked about the FEMA disaster number. If you enter "None" in the field you will be able to e-file. @rich22ws
Still can't. Is it because I'm already stuck in the loop?
Don't you not have to pay the taxes on a covid related IRA ROTH withdraw?
Julie, I spoke with your team this morning and they stated the form necessary to file will not be available now until March 31 and that the form being referred to here in this thread is for distributions prior to 2018. Can you confirm? I took an IRA distribution penalty free in 2020.
Thanks for the update @rich22ws ...
I figured there must have been a delay with the form since my software updated this morning and nothing changed.
I'm trying to file, but I keep being sent to a "check this entry" form relating to the disaster distribution, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to check or what is missing.
Help?
I think that you are saying that you are stuck in a look generated by IRS Form 8915-F and / or disaster distributions. Is that correct? Please clarify. These steps relate to such a 'loop'.
If you entered any Form 1099-R in your return, you have already seen the question about disaster distributions. There is another question for users who did not enter any Form 1099-R information.
The question in the step-by-step section of your return is located after you enter income and before you enter deductions and credits. In your tax return, that question may not have been answered or the question has been answered Yes.
If you did not receive such a distribution or if the full distribution has already been taxed, you may mark No.
To return to this question in TurboTax Desktop, follow these steps.
TurboTax is now able to report IRS Form 8915-F. Were you reporting distributions in Part II or Part III of the Form 8915-F? Please clarify.
I was able to generate an IRS Form 8915-F Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Repayments and report distributions other than IRA's in Part II.
The intent is for you to see the 1/3 spread over the three years:
@petejm79
I did receive the distribution and I had elected to take it over 3 years. I'm not sure why I'm getting this page.
I am having the same problem. I enter the information into 8915-F as instructed and it calculates the tax correctly but when I go to finish up income it asks again if I took disaster distribution. When I hit yes it tells me to revisit retirement withdrawals again. How do I get out of this 'loop'?
Inv 20057 has confirmed an issue with the 8915-F today. Please have patience while the programmers make adjustments.

I didn't have the option to delete the form, so I manually went back and changed my answer to no. Went to file and it still pops up saying I clicked yes. I can click to uncheck the box, but when I hit continue it takes me right back.

Try this procedure -
If you did not take a disaster distribution from your pension funds between 2018 and 2020, there may be a question that needs to be reviewed. Follow these steps.
Now watch the headings under Federal closely.
If you've tried the previous steps and you did not resolve the question about the disaster distributions in 2020, then try the steps listed below
Go to Wages & Income
Scroll down to "Retirement Plans and Social Security
Select IRA, 401(K) Pension Plan Withdrawals(1099-R) = Continue (you don't need to add any income forms)
Have you ever taken a disaster distribution before 2021? = Yes (even if you didn't)
Did either of you take a disaster distribution at any time between 2018 and 2022? = No
We took a disaster distribution in 2020 (not distributed over three years). I can't get out of the loop either.
I keep getting told to "Check the entry" before being allowed to file the return, but am informed that "we'll let you know when we can help you finish up your taxes."
Given that it is almost April, and we have a refund coming, we want to file now.
There should be a page in the step-by-step section of your return where you can answer the question about disaster distributions with No. If you entered any Form 1099-R in your return, you have already seen that question. There is another question for users who did not enter any For 1099-R information.
In TurboTax Online, follow these steps to clear the error message.
In TurboTax Desktop, follow these steps.
If you have tried these steps and you did not see a question about the disaster distributions in 2020, then repeat the steps for the Deductions & Credits section of your return until the question is located.
