Due to extreme procrastination I had put in for an extension to file my 2019 taxes until October 15 but missed that deadline. I actually didn't file the 2019 taxes until I filed my 2020 taxes in October of 2020. I have received my 2020 refund but am still waiting to receive my 2019 refund.
I do not know what my next step should be to see about my 2019 refund. Is there a phone number I can speak to someone to help me?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 4 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

How did you file your 2019 return? At that late date, you would have been required to purchase and download the tax software for 2019. Then you'd prepare your return, print, sign and mail it in. Below is a link to a TurboTax FAQ with instructions on finishing up a prior-year return you started in TurboTax Online. If you filed your return using any other method, your return has yet to be filed.
How do I finish a prior-year return that I started in TurboTax Online?
Do you see any information at the IRS website indicating that they have received your 2019 return?
Thank you. I will try it tomorrow.
I used my previously purchased copy of TurboTax 2019 to file my 2019 taxes in October of 2020. I e-filed it through Turbo Tax but have yet to receive my federal refund. I did however receive both my 2019 and my 2020 State refunds which I filed by mail the same time.
I just figured since it was filed a year late my 2019 tax refund was being delayed.

warning. the IRS phone lines are usually busy this time of the year. don't be surprised if you don't get through. you'll have to keep trying. sometimes calling as soon as the lines open or shortly before they close works,
Hi how are you? I filled my 2019 taxes. Received a letter to verify my adentity. I called and verified everything. The agent fixed my address and told me everything was good, I should received my taxes no more than 3 weeks. Those 3 weeks became yrs now. Whenever I checked on irs.gov it said “information not available” . I haven’t received no stimulus, or any other help because of this issue. I tried contacting the irs but as everybody knows is impossible. I even follow the tips others offer here to get to talk to a representative and even tru there I haven’t been able to get anybody. On June of this yr a friend introduced me to a tax agent who did my 2020 taxes and added the 2019 aswell. To my surprise he told me somebody else already filled the 2020 taxes so he had to send it tru mail. Despite me asking him for a copy of everything or an email , anything, he didn’t do it. I can’t get a hold of him and now when I enter my info on the irs website it says my info is incorrect. I haven’t received no calls, no emails, no letters. I can’t get help anywhere. I am so frustrated. I don’t know what else to do.
