How do I remove the senior credit of 6k? Although by age I qualify, this is my first year as a resident and I do not qualify. It seems to be automatic based on my date of birth. but I need to remove it. Thank you.

Do you mean that you were a dual-status alien for 2025? Why do you think you are not eligible for the deduction for seniors? What is your source for that restriction?
Hello @rjs , yes, I became a resident in 2025 and my understanding is that as I was not a resident for the whole year, I am not eligible? How do I delete the credit, please?
It's not a credit, it's a deduction.
I don't know of any way to delete the deduction for seniors from the tax return.
I am not aware of any rule that would make a dual-status alien not be eligible for the deduction for seniors. You have not said what the source of your "understanding" is.
When you say that you became a resident in 2025, I assume you mean that at the beginning of 2025 you were a nonresident alien and at the end of 2025 you were a resident alien, as the IRS defines those terms. That would make you a dual status alien. You might want to review Chapter 1 in IRS Publication 519.
There is one thing I know but it may affect other places in your return. Under My Info you can check the box saying your SSN is NOT VALID for employment.
